Are You Praying For This?

During last night’s Prayer Warrior Call I spoke about praying for God’s preparation. As humans, often times our natural propensity is for instant gratification. We want what we want when we want it. But, the detriment of that lies in the potential of missing out on the important steps in developing necessary skill sets, gratitude and appreciation, and specific emotional and coping skills.

How many of us have prayed for a husband or wife or partner, without praying for the preparation to be the best wife, husband, or partner? Or prayed for a child without asking for the preparation of motherhood or fatherhood? Perhaps we want the successful business or leadership position but we don’t pray for the steps we need to get there or the tools for how to best serve once we get there. Or we want the million dollars in the bank without the preparation of becoming and understanding the path of a millionaire.

A couple of weeks ago while I was being interviewed by America Meditating Radio Show, Spirit placed on my heart as I was speaking, “this is preparation.” Now, I have no idea exactly what Spirit meant by that, but I trust that there’s something cooking and that this interview was the perfect platform for me to practice new skills. So, I saw it as that and allowed myself to just have fun.

I also realized that the interview opportunity came along my path once I was prepared to do it successfully. I wasn’t prepared two years ago or so when I started my business. Even though at the onset of my business my ego told me I could and that I should want my voice and platform to reach millionsright away. However, I needed to learn my trade, speak more in front of people, and cultivate and understand my own beliefs more deeply. My higher self has learned to appreciate the value in fully enjoying the process and preparation, trusting that the Universe will give me only what I can handle.

So, don’t miss over obtaining key steps toward getting what you want simply because you’re in a rush to get there. You’ll get there, but focus on the preparation as much as you do on the end result. Master the skills required for you to be great at whatever it is that you desire. Use the path of preparation to practice, to learn, to grow, to stumble, and to heal. Savor each step. When we focus on harnessing the skills, it makes getting what we want more enjoyable and that much more successful. Enjoy your process. Enjoy the preparation.

Happy Day!

With Love & Gratitude,
